This 6×12 acrylic painting on cradled birch panel is part of a series of six Atlantic Puffin paintings, each featuring a similar vibrant and bold color palette and custom mixed background colors in a variety of shades of blue. There are TWO left-facing, TWO center-facing and TWO right-facing paintings. As the photos indicate, the sides of the painting are natural birch. The paintings and wood sides are sealed with matte acrylic varnish, ready to hang and/or sit on a shelf. These look best hung or displayed in groups of three. Left-Facing I, Center-Facing I and Right-Facing I look perfect together. Left-Facing II, Center-Facing II and Right-Facing II also coordinate nicely. All of these paintings were made using my own photographs taken a few years back on Machias Seal Island, 11 miles out to see off the coast of Cutler, Maine. A fantastic adventure!
